In central Manchester this is one of the only fabric stores – fortunately, its a great one! With a huge selection of fabrics – it is doubtful that you will leave empty handed. This was the most recommended fabric store when I asked sewing enthusiasts from Manchester where they find their fabric. Here are some details:

Located in Chorlton, this long-running fabric store has an impressive range of fabrics sourced from all over the world, and all staff are very knowledgeable and friendly if you need advice and assistance with what to buy!

I want Fabric
The youngest of the three fabric stores mentioned so far, I want Fabric, was established three years ago, and strives to provide high quality and affordable fabrics for their customers – a simple concept which has proved successful for them. Either purchase from their website in the comfort of your home or swing by to their haberdashery store in Salford!

We should all be more aware of where our fabric is coming from, and if you are conscious of this and wish to buy ethically sourced fabric, then stitched up is the one! Mentioned in a previous article about the best sewing classes in Manchester, we wrote about the amazing workshops and classes that they offer. Centered around ethical fashion, they educate seamstresses on how to create their own clothing and where to source the material!
