Sew The Cushions With a Bobble Edge
Cut your pieces of fabric to the following dimensions:
– 1x 42cm x 42cm
– 2x 28cm x 42cm
The seam allowance is already included here.
Press over one of the long sides of each small piece of fabric (the edge that is 42cm long) so that you fold over 1cm of fabric twice.
Set a simple straight stitch on your sewing machine.
Now you can topstitch the ironed-over edge with the straight stitch close to the edge on one side.
Now put a second seam on the other side of the flap and sew it tight there too.
Repeat the process for your second small piece of fabric as well. Together they later form the back of the pillow.
Place the large piece of fabric for the front and the small pieces for the back right sides together. You can position the fringe or bobble braid in between and pin it close to the edge. The sewn edges of the two small pieces of fabric should overlap in the middle.
When all the layers are pinned together with pins or clips, you can stitch around once and sew them together close to the edge. Make sure that you always get your border between the layers of fabric.
Carefully cut off part of the seam allowance at the corners. This way you can turn the corners inside out better later.
Now finish the seam allowance with a simple zigzag stitch.
Now you can turn your pillowcase inside out. Yeah, you’re done!
Sew The Bobble Boarder
If you don’t feel like sewing all the layers together at the same time, the next time you can sew your bobble border onto just one of the fabrics first and then sew on the other layers.
As you can see, we have sewn three versions of the pillows and can hardly decide which is our favourite.
And voila you have now finished the Bobble Pillow!
