We love everything about autumn: the crisp air, the vibrant changing leaves and always having an excuse to drink copious amounts of hot chocolate. It’s also an excellent season for challenging yourself to start new sewing and DIY projects. We have curated a selection of this season’s Autumn trends and paired some of our Makerist patterns with them so that your Autumn wardrobe will be up to date!
Coats
Many of the coat shapes we found were classic, boxi shaped and oversized. We have picked out some options we thought would work well with this season’s trends. If you like the olive Zara coat with a waisted belt then the Riga Coat would look great. For a warm and femine coat then the Nadia coat could be a good option. Another option that could be used with lighter fabrics and doesn’t include a waist belt could be the Hot Toddy coat.
Tailored Jackets and Blazers
Who doesn’t love a classy looking tailored jacket or blazer? If you want an easy blazer pattern with no buttons like the Zara one above then the Joe Blazer would work well. If you would like a double-breasted blazer, with a straight, loose cut or a more fitted cut then either the Amsterdam blazer or Naelle jacket would look great!
Blouses
We saw many different blouses this season. We found many dramatic blouses with ruffled sleeves, and a hip ties and we found the perfect patterns the Screwdriver women’s wrap top by Our Lady of Leisure and the Puffy sleeve Ambre blouse by Lenaline . If you are going for a for a straight blouse with a V-Neck then the Prague blouse by Orageuse would look fabulous.
Skirts
We absolutely love this seasons midi length denim skirts! If you are looking for a chic and elegant skirt that will look great in any season then we have picked the perfect patterns for you. The Romeo denim skirt by I Am and the Sabine Skirt by Coralie Bijasson Both look great in denim and are paneled, and buttoned on the front.
Leather and short Skirts
The ready to sew Juliette Skirt is a gorgeous A-line shape which has pockets. The just-above-the-knee length makes it a classic perfect for all seasons. Style it with an oversized knit during the day or a beautiful lace blouse during the night. The sandrine skirt by Coralie is a classic wardrobe must have this season.
Shirtdress
The shirt dress comes out every season and we just love the look. If you like something with a defined waist then the Jolene Shirt and Shirtdres is for you.
Sweater
What Autumn wardrobe is complete without an oversized knitted sweater? The Josy Knitted sweater by Woolaffair is an easy to knit and comfortable yet fashionable option.
