MATERIALS FOR YOUR LUNCHBAG WITH WAX CLOTH
– 0.5 m Wash cloth
– 0.5 m lining material for the inside
– 70 cm webbing
– Two D-rings
– sewing machine , sewing thread and scissors
– Fabric brackets for fixing
– The free pattern for the Lunchbag
Use the cut part of the lunch bag from our free download and use it to cut your outer fabric and lining and, if you like, a volume insert. Pay attention to the seam allowances and markings in the pattern. You can cut the webbing to a length of approx. 70 cm.
SEWING INSTRUCTIONS: LUNCHBAG WITH WAX CLOTH
Transfer the markings for the strap fastener onto the outer fabric and pin the strap accordingly. Then first put a loop around the two D-rings for the closure part and stitch it onto the pattern piece. Then stitch the strap lengthways down to the marking.
Now fold your pattern right sides together (and your webbing should have both right sides together too) and stitch off the opposite side seams.
Pull the cut corners apart and place the edges of the fabric on top of each other. Stitch both sides firmly so that the bottom becomes rectangular.
Then repeat the last sewing steps with your lining material as well.
Now put both bags inside each other, right sides together, using the side seams as a guide. Put them on top of each other. Now you can sew everything together all around, leaving a turning opening and then turning the whole piece. Finally, quilt the upper edge close to the edge.
Tadaaa, now we’re done! How cute and practical is this little lunch bag?
